How Early Should I Order Christmas Gifts in Ireland?
There is no single date when everybody needs to start Christmas shopping, but there is a simple rule that removes most of the stress: order earlier than you think you need to, then choose when you want the gift shipped.
That is especially useful if you are sending gifts directly to family or friends in Ireland.
How early should I order Christmas gifts?
If you already know what you want to buy, there is very little benefit in waiting until December.
Ordering in October or November gives you a better choice of gifts, avoids stock selling out and means you are not relying on the busiest delivery period of the year.
Will the gift arrive too early if I order now?
Not necessarily.

For the Republic of Ireland, delivery normally takes 1–2 working days after shipping, but Christmas is considerably busier than an ordinary week.
For Christmas 2026, our recommended final shipping date for delivery in the Republic of Ireland before Christmas is Monday 21 December.
That is the latest point we recommend — not the date we suggest everybody waits until.

What if I am ordering from abroad for someone in Ireland?
You can order from abroad and use the recipient's Irish address at checkout. Because the gift is packed and shipped from Waterford, you do not need to organise an international parcel yourself.
If you are ordering early, simply choose the later shipping date you want in the cart.
When should I order if the gift is important?
If the gift is for somebody you definitely need to reach before Christmas — particularly an older relative, a customer or somebody you will not see in person — build in extra time.
Christmas delivery networks become busier as December progresses, so earlier is safer.
Should I wait for December to buy Christmas gifts?
No. If the gift is in stock and you know you want it, buying early is usually easier.
You keep the choice of the item you want, can add your message while you have time, and can choose a later shipping date rather than leaving the entire job until Christmas week.
