Can I choose the book for my gift box?

You choose the genre and we choose a book we believe they'll love.

No. Instead, you choose the genre and we carefully select a book based on your choice.

Every book included by The Book Resort is personally chosen by us. Rather than offering thousands of titles to browse, we use our experience to select a book that we believe will make a wonderful gift.

We focus on contemporary fiction, award winners, bestselling books, hidden gems and exceptional Irish authors.

We generally don't include:

  • Horror
  • Fantasy
  • Non Fiction Books
  • Books that are part of a series
  • Very niche titles that may not appeal to most readers

Our aim is to choose books that are enjoyable and well written.

If you are a subscriber and have already read the book we send, simply let us know and we'll include an additional book in your next box at no extra cost. If you received a gift box with a book you have already read, we will pop another book in the post for you.

Can I include a gift message?

Yes. Every gift box includes a complimentary handwritten card with your message.

Simply write your message in the cart and we'll handwrite it onto one of our lovely cards before your order is shipped.

We never include pricing or receipts inside the gift box.

How long does delivery in Ireland take?

Orders placed before 3pm, Monday to Friday, are usually dispatched the same day. Most deliveries within Ireland arrive in 1–2 working days.

Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive tracking details so you can follow its journey.

If you're ordering in advance, you can also choose your preferred shipping date during checkout using our optional shipping calendar.

What happens if someone has already read the book?

If you've already read the book we send, simply let us know and we'll include an additional book in your next box at no extra cost.

There is no need to return the original book—you can keep it, pass it on to a friend, donate it or enjoy having it in your collection.

This policy applies to our monthly book subscription and is one of the ways we help ensure every delivery remains a pleasure to receive.

Will the receipt be included in the gift box?

Never. We never include receipts, invoices or pricing information inside our gift boxes.

Your order confirmation and receipt are sent by email to the person placing the order, making it easy to send gifts directly to family, friends or colleagues with confidence.

Your recipient will receive only the beautifully presented gift and your handwritten message (if you've included one).
